Bell Island is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law and has lived in Scotts Bluff County since 1994. Bell started in the Scotts Bluff County Public Defender’s office and opened his own practice in 1999. Bell continues to represent clients in the areas of Criminal Law, DUI, Divorce and Family law, and Probate, matters.
Bell is the only attorney in Nebraska who is a board-certified specialist in DUI Defense by the National College for DUI Defense. He is a Regent to the National College for DUI Defense. Bell is past president of the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorney’s Association and a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Bell is a frequent lecturer on issues of criminal law, trial practice, and DUI Defense.
Bell is a member of the Nebraska State Bar, Scotts Bluff County Bar, and the Federal District Court of Nebraska..
Bell is a long-time resident of Nebraska and is a graduate of Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Bell attended Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota where he graduated with a B.A. in History and Soviet Studies. While at Hamline he competed as a wrestler, performed in the theatre, and spent a semester abroad studying Eastern Europe.
When Bell is away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife Sharon and daughter Kiana. Bell is active in the Theatre West Program and is a coach for the Gering High School Mock Trial Team.
